- The Negotiating Game - Module 1 of the course provides an initial overview of the training and our foundational case study that allows participants to engage in a fun and interactive virtual negotiation! It concludes with a once-in-a-lifetime behind the scenes look at the negotiating process that not only provides an eye-opening insight into the negotiating game but also a game-changing foundation for the rest of the course.
- The Breakthrough - Here participants are introduced to the "breakthrough"concept that lies at the heart of the course. This unique insight allow participants to discover a hidden barrier they didn't even know existed that consistently works to undermine their success as negotiators. Once identified, it can be managed by participants in a way that is incredibly empowering. This eye-opening moment is the one we call the "Breakthrough" moment in Breakthrough Negotiating.
- Identifying Needs & Sparking Relationships - We explore the importance of identifying needs. Needs are essentially the raw materials for any negotiation. We start by helping participants discover ways they can better understand their own needs. Then we begin to explore how negotiators can gain a deep understanding of the other party's needs both before the negotiation begins and during the process itself. We also talk about how surfacing needs can build trust, credibility, and relationships during the negotiating process.
- The No-Deal Option (Plan B) - Participants will discover you always have more power than you think. In fact, you can even manufacture power when you feel completely powerless. In Module 3 we'll reveal the true source of power in any negotiation - your No-Deal Option!
- Only-Factors -We'll discuss the key to increasing what your worth in any negotiation to those with whom you're negotiating. How can you increase your value in any negotiation? By discovering your Only-Factors!
- Target Setting - How can you ask for more in any negotiation and get it? Here you'll discover our powerful methodology for confidently preparing and presenting a bold ask - a crucial key to your ability to negotiate better, breakthrough deals. You'll also discover how to set and hit your targets in the negotiating process.
- Yes and No - Getting to Yes isn't the problem. It's the quality of the yes you get to that really matters. Here you'll learn how to be smart about saying yes - that means helping you to give away less in terms of concessions while making the other party feel more satisfied at the same time. We'll also discover how to say no in the negotiating process and how you can use "no" to build a better version of yes.
